Parc de la Rivière-des-Milles-Îles

“The Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles is a set of natural environments, lakes, islands, wetlands and shorelines, who are driven and managed by the organization Eco-Nature .

It includes municipal land and many private lands combined with the work of Nature Eco-awareness and the involvement of property owners in favor of protecting the environment. The Park has a rich and unique biodiversity, as evidenced by its status as a “Wildlife Sanctuary”. This territory is protected in 1998, consists of ten islands, covering 26.2 hectares of private land belonging to the cities of Laval, Rosemere and Éco-Nature.

The setting of the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles offers a true bayou landscape, with its calm water, shallow and safe, its marsh flowers, swamp forests and lush vegetation of its islands, the whole forming a maze of greenery. Half an hour from Montreal, nearly two dozen islands that are accessible, a major tourist attraction and a unique place in Quebec. Come and make wildlife watching and flora, and why not discover it by canoe, kayak, rabaska, on foot, skates, snowshoes or even cross-country skiing. ”
